This  afternoon shortly after 2 o'clock Solomon Landman died at his home on  the corner of Green St. and Wabash Ave. Mr. Landman had not been in  vigorous health for some time, but was able to be about his home until  the last day or so, and nothing of a serious nature was apprehended  until this morning, when he began to sick and grew worse until his  sufferings were relieved by death. His disease was heart trouble. The  time for the funeral has not as yet been arranged. Mr. L. was born in  Germany 68 years ago and there grew to manhood, marrying Miss Betty  Volnor. In 1866 he came with his family to this country and settled in  Waynetown, where he continued in business until 1891, when he came to  Crawfordsville. Three children were born to Mr. & Mrs. Landman they  being Isaac Landman of Danville, Ill; Louis Landman of Columbus, Ohio  and Miss Minnie Landman who is with her mother. All the children were  home at the time of Mr. Laudman's (sic) death. The deceased was a man  highly respected in the community and was in all things a good citizen  and neighbor. He was a big hearted, whole souled man and those who knew  him best were his warmest friends and greatest admirers. -- kbz
